Dancing Through Life
...Reading all the books...
Hello Foxes,
Happy mid-February. I’m so pleased to be here with y’all again, as always.
They say February is the cruelest month, don’t they? I suspect that’s because all the holiday fuss and muss is over, we’re back to routine, and we just have to wait out the winter (six more weeks, if that groundhog can be trusted).
After a run of dry days, we’ve had spectacularly messy weather today; I’m huddled in the office with a big mug of Stash Golden Turmeric Chai to get me through.
Hotel D: Dance With Me
So I realized that while I included a link to Dance With Me in my last message, I didn’t share the cover. Fortunately, you’re all cleverer than me, and clicked through to see it anyway. ;)
Sigh. He’s a cutie, isn’t he? (Ahem. I digress.)
Lo these many years ago, yours truly wanted to be a performer. One significant flaw in that plan? Although I was a decent actor and singer, I was so not a dancer. I’d always been the one in the family with two left feet. My picture was next to klutz in the dictionary.
Yet every other audition notice was for dancers or at least ‘singers who move.’
So I started taking classes when I could. While I was never the most graceful, I did learn enough so I didn’t publicly embarrass myself. That seemed like the most I could ask for, since all my theater kid friends had apparently been dancing since their days in the womb!
So writing this story is a bit of wish fulfillment for me. As the author, I get to play both Chase and Marisol, who are graceful as gazelles. It might only in the pages of this novel, but I’ll take it!
